See the sea – experience the sea in Wilhelmshaven (4 days)
Harbors and the marine make up the flair of the North Sea town. Here, guests find everything for a holiday full of adventure. The main attraction all year long is the Maritime Mile, with its museums and adventure worlds across the great harbor. Discover the world's greatest plastinated whale organ; board a real submarine or a former air force destroyer. Dive into the virtual underwater world „100 meters under sea level“ and experience the fascination of the mudflats.
Travel across the living spaces of our planet and visit the adventurous world of the pirates. But Wilhelmshaven is also an ideal starting point of the attractive and varied countryside of the Friesland, with its wonderful towns and villages rich in tradition and culture. The routes are planned with the option of returning to the North Sea town at all times and can be travelled without major effort in one day.
Tour proposal
1st day
Arrival at Wilhelmshaven and dinner in the hotel/overnight stay.
2nd day
First stage from Wilhelmshaven via Hooksiel with intermediate stop at Jever. Visit of the castle museum. Discover the town on your own, then return to Wilhelmshaven (ca. 56 km). Overnight stay.
3rd day
After breakfast, you'll begin the second stage. You will leave Wilhelmshaven to visit Dangast. There, you'll have time for your own exploration. Return to Wilhelmshaven (ca. 36 km). Overnight stay.
Alternatively from 1st of June to 3rd of August
3rd day
Crossing with the ferry from the Helgolandkai to Eckwarderhörne. Arriving at Eckwarderhörne, the trip goes to Dangast via the sculpture path to Mariensiel and back to Wilhelmshaven (ca. 53 km). Overnight stay.
4th day
After an extended breakfast, you go to the Maritime Mile. There, you visit the coast museum at the Bontekai and the Wattenmeerhaus (mudflats house). Departure from Wilhelmshaven.
