Boßel diploma in Wiesmoor (3 days)
Sport and excitement on the streets of Wiesmoor: “Boßeln” – the national sport of East Friesland. Boßeln – what exactly is it though? Despite many similarities with other kinds of sport (for example skittle, bowling, Boccia), no comparison can truly explain the particularities of the Boßel sport.
It is a traditional national sport of Ostfriesland, with a motto: First, the Frisians learn to walk and next, they learn to “boßel”. It is played mainly in the coast regions of Northern Germany but also across the world. Other regions are the Netherlands or certain regions in the USA ,where it was introduced by German immigrants.
